GEORGIA INTERNET CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN TASK FORCE

The Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force is housed within the Child Exploitation And Computer Crimes Unit (CEACCU) at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI). There are numerous local, state and federal law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies that are part of the Georgia ICAC Task Force. The mission of the ICAC Task Force is to assist state and local law enforcement agencies in developing an effective response to cyber enticement, child pornography and the commercial sexual exploitation of children.

This support encompasses forensic and investigative components, training and technical assistance, victim services, prevention and community education. The CEACCU consists of Special Agents, Digital Forensic Investigators, Intelligence Analysts, and administrative support staff.

Special Agents that are assigned to the CEACCU
conduct proactive and reactive investigations involving crimes against children and attempt to locate and rescue juvenile victims of child sexual exploitation. Digital Forensic Investigators process all types of digital media, including computers, cell phones, tablets, etc., for electronic evidence used to support criminal investigations. The unit also provides support to regional GBI offices and other law enforcement agencies in the area of digital forensics. Intelligence Analysts provide key support with the analysis, correlation, validation, and dissemination of critical intelligence to agents. Administrative support staff assist with overall operations of the CEACCU and the Georgia ICAC Task Force.
